A look at the UFC's August 17th event in Boston, MA on the new Fox Sports 1 channel. Shogun Rua and Chael Sonnen headline the three hour main card.
The UFC will soon be moving off of FX and to the new Fox Sports 1 channel on Saturday, August 17th. While their inaugural FS1 live card will be on Saturday at the TD Garden in Boston, you can expect the majority of their live and taped content to air on Wednesdays.
Mauricio Rua and Chael Sonnen headline the August show in a five round main event, while Alistair Overeem and Travis Browne square off in the co-main event. Perhaps the most exciting matchup on paper is a preliminary card fight between Michael McDonald and Brad Pickett. A late injury to Thiago Alves means that Mike Pyle steps into the main card fold to take on Matt Brown.
A few fights have been changed because of the dreaded injury bug, but all things considered this is still a great event on paper and hopefully it delivers on the action.
